Giving hope in reviving sight to the destitute in our community
BECKS GLAUCOMA FOUNDATION GHANA (BGFG) is an award-winning non-profit organization that was established on the 10th of October 2019. It seeks to solve glaucoma-related issues by providing constant and frequent glaucoma awareness, coupled with quality eye surgery, and screening at no cost.
A community-supportive initiative program in commemoration of World Sight Day launched in the year 2021. This initiative was targeted at reducing to the barest minimum, eye diseases (especially glaucoma) in children on whom we’re counting to become future leaders.
A retrospective study at the Emmavick Eye clinic in Sunyani, Ghana, found that 7.89% of patients presented with glaucoma, with female adults having a prevalence of 9.52% and male adults at 8.77%.
